And this spell makes you invisible...
The ''Bee'' in the title refers to the American competions known as 'Spelling Bees', where kids try to outspell each other. In essence an examination of a family breaking down, the story centres on the 11 year old daughter, who displays an extraordinary talent for spelling. When her Jewish academic father realises her talent, he begins schooling her in the Jewish Kabbalah, while almost ignoring his wife and son. His son seeks refuge in another religion, while his wife becomes increasingly erratic.
