Comments | The material contains moderate complex and mature themes which are presented in a context of a biographical drama. Themes are emotional, psychological, inspirational, historical and educational, set during the era of Hitler’s rule in World War II. It is the intention of the film maker to educate the viewer about the unhistorical acts and many of the unvisited tombs of world heroes, such as Franz, who stood his ground and advocated in a form of a protest, to many silent voices ostracised by Nazi ideologies and its leader Adolf Hitler. Themes do not focus on the actual atrocities of Hitler and his ideologies, which are instead implied throughout, as his acts are presented to be assumed or commonly known by the audience. The themes mainly focus on the life, journey and bravery of Franz. The presentation of themes are likely to be distressing, intense, emotional and psychological especially for the cognitive development of children younger than 13 years, who are likely to be confused. Such themes includes the consequences of contentious objection to Nazism and to succumb to violence through torture and the death penalty. Although themes are emotional and psychological, but are positively mitigated by the historical, educational and inspirational merits likely to be able to be contextualized by the cognitive development of children of 13 years and older. Negative themes explore a family being ostracised by the local community for its firm believe against war and Nazi ideologies, women headed households during the war, suffering the consequences of terror, mental and physical terror of prisoners, human rights violations of prisoners by Nazi regime, convictions in ones believes, execution of anti-Nazi supporters, imprisonment in a German jail, receiving a death sentence, war, Nazi ideologies, family in distress, living in fear, psychological trauma, harassment and suffering, being unfairly trialled for ones believes. Positive themes explore romance, being in a happy family, a mothers love for her husband and family, survival, advocacy against war and Nazi ideologies, positive resistance and intolerance of the victimization and killing of innocent people, courage, hope, bravery, seeking peace, sacrifice, standing against evil deeds, firm believes in God and being a conscientious objector. |
