Themes are complex and educational which explore makingfriends with aliens, child services going after Luis, missing a sense of belonging, alien transformations, young man’s desperation attempts to prove his father is a normal being, taking children to child services, lies told by the social worker, hiding in plain sight by the intergalactic police, adventure on earth by aliens, bad parenting, unloving father, scary person who turns out to be an alien. Themes of being a bully, changing characters by aliens and bad parenting might be upsetting, disturbing and distressing to children younger than 7 years but mitigated by the overall positive message of love, hope and trust in this good alien animation film. Parental guidance is recommended to parents can help unpack some of the alien themes as they might be psychologically confusing to children younger than 7 years.
