Newsletter and jokes 13 February 2015

Hi all

Apparently our nation is in a state ...

A strong lineup this week, with another Oscar hopeful and one that has no
pretentions of winning anything ... and a good crowd pleaser. And that's
apart from the Fifty Shades.... :-)

Speaking of Oscar, there's some previews for some of the noms showing
on the Nouveau circuit, as well as previews all over for American Sniper.

Speaking of which, I found this snippet from the US, referring to the US
market, interesting:

"American Sniper has now earned $281.4 million, and will soon pass The
Matrix Reloaded to move up to second all-time among R-rated movies behind
The Passion of the Christ ($370.3 million). It's also as much as the
combined earnings of all of the other 2014 Best Picture nominees.
American Sniper now appears on track to earn around $350 million total."

Ageing ...

Wouldn't it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten
minutes; come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller!

Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met
yet!

I don't trip over things, I do random gravity checks!

I don't need anger management. I need people to stop p*ssing me off!

Old age is coming at a really bad time!

When I was a child I thought Nap Time was a punishment ... now, as a grown
up, it just feels like a small vacation!

The biggest lie I tell myself is ... "I don't need to write that down, I'll
remember it."

Lord grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the
courage to change the things I can & the friends to post my bail when I
finally snap!

I don't have gray hair. I have "wisdom highlights". I'm just very wise.

My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs
work.

Teach your daughter how to shoot, because a restraining order is just a
piece of paper.

The kids text me "plz" which is shorter than please. I text back "no"
which is shorter than "yes".

I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do that
second week.

When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

I've lost my mind and I'm pretty sure my wife took it!

Even duct tape can't fix stupid ... but it can muffle the sound!

Why do I have to press one for English when you're just gonna transfer me
to someone I can't understand anyway?

Of course I talk to myself, sometimes I need expert advice.

At my age "Getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I
came in there for.

Bob, a 70-year-old, extremely wealthy widower, shows up at the Country Club
with a breathtakingly beautiful and very sexy 25 year- old blonde who
knocks everyone's socks off with her youthful sex appeal and charm. She
hangs onto
Bob's arm and listens intently to his every word.

His buddies at the club are all aghast. At the very first chance, they
corner him and ask, "Bob, how did you get the trophy girlfriend?"

Bob replies, "Girlfriend? She's my wife!"

They're amazed, but continue to ask. "So, how did you persuade her to marry
you?"

"I lied about my age," Bob replies

"What, did you tell her you were only 50?"

Bob smiles and says, "No, I told her I was 90."

An eighty year old man was having an annual physical. As the doctor was
listening to his heart with the stethoscope, he began muttering, "Oh oh!"

The man asked the doctor what the problem was.

"Well," said the doc, "you have a serious heart murmur. Do you smoke?"

"No", replied the man.

"Do you drink in excess?"

"No"

"Do you have a sex life?"

"Yes, I do!"

"Well," said the doc, "I'm afraid with this heart murmur, you'll have to
give up half your sex life".

Looking perplexed, the old man said, "Which half... the LOOKING or the
THINKING?"

4 YEARS OF AGE My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE Wish I could talk it over with Mom.....
