Don Jon

There's more to life than a happy ending.

Don Jon
Starring, written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this comedy takes a look at how reality meets the illusions created by the mass media as to how men and woman are supposed to relate. A young man with a talent for pickups and a love of porn, meets a young woman raised on romance Hollywood-style. As both of them have very different ideas pumped into them of how the opposite sex is, the boy-meets-girl routine is going to face some challenges...

Cape Times
Todd McCarthy quote iconCrude, repetitive and rigorously single-minded, the writing lays it on. The few points the film has to make are underlined time and again.

Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconGordon-Levitt won't take safe for an answer. So Don Jon tends to stumble as it finds its feet. Still, you leave this movie feeling had at instead of had. The experience is elating. Read more: https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/reviews/don-jon-20130926#ixzz2pvnUBZTI Follow us: @rollingstone on Twitter | RollingStone on Facebook

T. Durgin quote iconDon Jon is one of those films where you pat a guy like Gordon-Levitt on the back, commend him for his effort, but then hope that he can build on the positives and deliver with his NEXT film.
