The winnIng combo from District 9 are back with a big budget and bigger stars, as they take another look at a possible future for humanity. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet's crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium, but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission. What the Critics say

C. Fuchs quote icon While it's not quite as good as District 9 that came out of the blue and surprised everyone, Elysium is still a decent offering for those who like their future bleak with a glimmer of hope.

Tomatometer quote iconAfter the heady sci-fi thrills of District 9, Elysium is a bit of a comedown for director Neill Blomkamp, but on its own terms, it delivers just often enough to satisfy.
