What the Critics say

Cape Argus / The Star
Helen Herimbi quote iconA dull take on doomsday...
10
Cape Times
Stephen Dalton quote iconSharp script and bitter-sweet humour.
10
Box Office
Kate Erbland quote iconSeeking a Friend will benefit from great word of mouth and could last in theaters long enough to go out with a bang, not a whimper.
15
ReelViews
James Berardinelli quote iconSeeking a Friend wants to say something about the human need to connect, and it does so in a convincing and satisfying way. This is a flawed motion picture, but it has stuck with me longer than I expected. It's as life-affirming as an extinction event film can be.
15
ScreenIt
C. Fuchs quote iconIf anything, it's an entertaining and well-made if bittersweet wake up call to get out, live life to its fullest, get over past issues and -- to paraphrase Queen -- find somebody to love, because everyone's days are numbered and our time on this planet is far too short.

Tomatometer quote iconTender, charming, and well-acted, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is unfortunately hamstrung by jarring tonal shifts and a disappointing final act.
