Happy Feet Two (3D)

Every step counts

Happy Feet Two (3D)
The followup to 2006's Oscar-winning movie produces more of the same for a new bunch of kiddies. Mumble's son Eric is having trouble fitting in as he can't dance or sing, so he and two buddies go walkabout, and learn a few things. When dad finds them to take them back, they discover that calving ice-bergs have trapped their flock, so they have to make a plan using other animals they've met to effect a rescue. Luckily dancing helps. This film is releasing in 2D and 3D, this is the 3D version.

C. Fuchs quote iconWhile it retreads much of the material from the first film, you certainly can't say it isn't ambitious.

Tomatometer quote iconThe animation is as eye-popping as ever, but Happy Feet Two's narrative is too noisily incoherent to recapture the Oscar-winning charm of its predecessor.
