Adam Nayman quote iconIt’s not until Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson show up as Stone’s chilled-out, comically permissive parents that the film finds its rhythm and, even then, Gluck’s direction is too erratic for Easy A to earn full marks. Stone, however, passes with flying colours: at this point, she’s the clear heiress-apparent to Anna Faris’ crown.

Tomatometer quote iconIt owes a huge debt to older (and better) teen comedies, but Easy A proves a smart, witty showcase for its irresistibly charming star, Emma Stone.
