The Tourist

The Perfect Trip — The Perfect Trap

The Tourist
She's on the run from the cops, who want her to lead them to her boyfriend. Said boyfriend made off with a large haul from a crime boss, and said crime boss also wants his loot back. She hooks up with a hapless American teacher, who falls for her charm and beauty. Little does he know the rough ride he is in for. Pam Grady quote iconUltimately, The Tourist is a B movie wrapped in A movie trappings, but its compensations far outweighs its faults, starting with its location.

Chicago Sunday Times
Roger Ebert quote iconIt doesn’t matter that the plot is absurd. That goes with the territory. But if it’s not going to be nonstop idiotic action, then the acting and dialogue need a little style and grace and kidding around.

eye Weekly
Jason Anderson quote iconThe most compelling question provoked by The Tourist is which of its two A-listers is more poorly served by the endeavour’s string of bad decisions.

Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconIn a year of craptaculars, The Tourist deserves burial at the bottom of the 2010 dung heap.

C. Fuchs quote iconAbout the only good thing to say about the pic is that at least it's set in Venice where the architectural and natural beauty is simple and never distracting, unlike everything else in this film.

Tomatometer quote iconThe scenery and the stars are undeniably beautiful, but they can't make up for The Tourist's slow, muddled plot, or the lack of chemistry between Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.
