A poor Southern youth moves to New York to scratch out an existence. Through happenstance, he meets an underground fight promoter and is soon working his way up the ladder. His father was a wrestling coach, but they had issues, and now he is out to impress his new ''father''. Along the way he becomes romantically involved with a pretty waitress. However his next fight, for a mammoth 100K, is against his childhood nemesis, now fully grown and very strong ...
