Dogville

This unusual, allegorical film is set in a small town in Colorado. A woman arrives, on the run from gangsters. After hiding in the town, she gains their acceptance and stays. However, the gangster frame her for a few crimes, and the police arrive, looking for her. This changes the dynamics of the town, and they now begin to exploit her, until the gangsters come back and a surprise is revealed... At the time of writing it comes in at position 101 on the IMDB's Top 250 movies, which is unusual for an art movie. Note the long running time.
