Gripsholm

Set in the 1930s in Sweden, a German writer and his girlfriend take a holiday at a Swedish castle, to escape the growing political and legal pressure mounting against his pacifist activism back home in Germany. A visit by an old friend, a Nazi sympathiser, reminds him of events back home. The film is an examination of the problems facing German intellectuals under the Nazi regime.
