Prisoner of the Mountain

A highly rated Russian film about the human dimension in the war between Russia and Chechnya, and based on a story written 150 years ago by Leo Tolstoy. Two Russian soldiers are held captive by a Moslem warlord, who hopes to swop them for his own son held by the Russians. His young daughter, set to guard the two, becomes friendly with one of them, further complicating matters. The director tries to illustrate the senselessness of the conflict.

All ages.
