The Crooked Man
Harry is called in by Hamilton to follow Douglas Jenner, a politician with a dazzling future ahead of him. Jenner is having an affair that threatens to unravel his career and one night, Harry finds himself witnessing a fight between the lovers in which Jenner stabs and kills his mistress. Harry is no amateur, but even he is shocked by the way Hamilton takes control of the situation, silencing Jenner and forcing Harry to dispose of the body.Meanwhile, Harry is involved in a relationship closer to home. There is a mutual attraction between him and his neighbour, Lisa Talbot (NATASHA LITTLE), who is fiercely trying to defend her sister against her abusive husband. In a violent struggle, Lisa kills her brother-in-law. Harry has no hesitation in helping her bury the body and vows his silence. Although the police do question her, Lisa is released without charge. However, it is not Harry who has pulled the strings but the sinister Hamilton, and he now has a hold over both Harry and Lisa.
