The Badge
Small-town sherrif, Darl (Billy Bob Thornton), comes across a murder case that threatens to end his career when he gets a call about a truck accident and finds the body of a transexual with a .22 slug in her back.The victim's wife, Scarlet (Patricia Arquette), shows up and Darl finds himself attracted to her and starts to look into the case. But then he realises local politicians, including a powerful judge, are trying to keep the sordid murder quiet and his life is in serious danger.
