The Affair of the Necklace
Oscar Winner Hilary Swank stars in this story based on the true events which lead to the downfall of the French Monarchy. It tells the story of how a destitute young woman Jeanne (Hilary Swank) attempts to reclaim her royal title by learning to navigate through the sexual and political power struggles of the court of Marie Antoinette.Jeanne's parents were killed at the hands of King Louis XIV when she was still a child. Now a young woman, and armed with nothing but her formidable intelligence, beauty, and a document proving her lineage, she set out to reclaim her family's honour.
