Kate & Leopold
Meg Ryan, a 21st century woman, stars as Kate McCay, a world-weary, top-flight executive, driven to succeed where she works at a New York public relations firm. She lives with her actor brother Charlie (Liev Schreiber). Her ex-boyfriend, Stuart (Breckin Meyer), a scientist, lives above her apartment and finds this space near the Brooklyn Bridge where there is a gap in time. He goes back to the eighteen hundreds and takes pictures of the place. Leopold (Hugh Jackman), the Third Duke of Albany, is a charming bachelor living in the 1870s, who is pressured by his uncle to choose a wife. Leopold spots Stuart taking pictures in the 19th century and is puzzled by Stuart's tiny camera and decides to follow him and they both get transported to modern day New York City. The following day Stuart falls down a lift shaft and Leopold, clueless aboutt his new surroundings, gets help and insights from Charlie who thinks that Leopold is an actor who is always in character. Leopold is a highly intelligent man and tries his best to learn and even improve the modern conveniences that he encounters. As he and Kate spend more time together, they find themselves increasingly attracted to each other. With a looming deadline for Leopold to return to 1876, Kate must decide between her career in the 21st century and true love in the 19th.
