Diane Keaton portrays Fran Maloni, a recent widow. Unaware that her beloved husband was killed by his own brother, mob boss Joseph Maloni, because of non-payment of a loan.Her brother-in-law makes a deal with her that she can repay the loan by becoming his ''hit man''. Unable to hurt or kill anyone, she concocts and executes her brilliant plan of kidnapping her potential victims and hiding them in her brother's Florida home. To further complicate her high-jinx, she realises that one of her victims has fallen in love with her.
