Teenage anxieties and small-town secrets give the Superman mythology an exciting new spin in Smallville. Tom Welling plays Clark Kent, the superbeing who crashed to Earth 12 years earlier during an unparalleled meteor storm and who now just wants to be one of the guys. It's a wish easier said than done.

His hoped-for romance with Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) is vexed by the kryptonite in her necklace.
