Conor Gallagher (Bill Pullman), a former Marine Corps helicopter pilot decorated with the Congressional Medal of Honor, has fallen on hard times. Expelled from the military for striking a senior officer, he has found work as a U.S. Marshal escorting federal prisoners across the States. His marriage is in tatters and he is holding onto his job by the skin of his teeth.Federal Judge Faith Matheson (Lena Olin) is about to try the most explosive case in her career involving rogue elements in the military. Following an attempt on her life, the Marshal's office assigns Conor to protect her. The two immediately begin to fight.
