Landspeed
Technicians and newshounds watch as a rocket car blazes toward the land speed record and into history. The rocket car veers across the flats and begins to lose control. The car rolls over and disintegrates in a flaming cartwheel across the flats.Twenty years later, an oil corporation decides to challenge any team that can reach the 1000 mph land speed record. Few believe the current land speed record of 733 mph can be broken. As the short season on the salt flats draws to an end, the race to be the fastest heats up. The team that doesn't self-destruct might make it past the finish line and into the history books.
