Dr. Jennifer Sitllman (Kinski) is a New York City therapist who takes a job as an elementary school psychiatrist in the rural town of Sierra Vista, Nevada. Her presence is greeted with a collective cold shoulder and it soon becomes clear that this backward little town has a deep, dark secret that it's inhabitants are determined to keep buried.

When she befriends an odd and gifted young boy, Dr. Stillman finds herself in the middle of a battle between a vengeful and horrifying monster and the unspeakable evil at the heart of the town itself.
