The Sea Change
Rupert thinks that all he needs to complete his successful 'life package' (prosperous career, designer flat, luxurious car), is a wife.So presuming that marriage would be yet another successful negotiation, he instructs his secretary to purchase a wedding ring, find a window in his diary for 45 minutes maximum and book a high class restaurant. Rupert takes Alison, his girlfriend of 10 months and a bright and intelligent businesswoman, out to lunch and confidently proposes. To his utter astonishment, Alison does not say yes or no, only saying that she might consider marrying him if he changes.
