A Lesson Before Dying

In Louisiana in the 1940's, a young black man named Jefferson (Mekhi Phifer) sits on death row, condemned for a murder he witnessed but did not commit.

Meanwhile, teacher Grant Wiggins (Don Cheadle) has recently returned to the South with a college education, and is contemplating his future while teaching the local children. His meetings to counsel the inmate will transform them both.

The men forge a bond, struggling to learn the true meaning of pride in life and dignity in death.

98 minutes, No Persons Under 10.
