A Hasidic Jewish woman, married to a religious scholar, is lacking direction in life. When an opportunity to work in the diamond district opens up, she takes the job much to the horror of her husband and their friends.Her exposure to the outside world causes the young woman to question her beliefs and way of life. As she becomes more independent, she encounters resistance from her family and friends.
