This film arrives bearing the hallmarks of a bomb. The studio curiously had a global embargo on press reviews until 2 days before release, signaling that there are problems. Based on a short film, the plotline has some elements of 2000's Galaxy Quest, with video games replacing television broadcasts. When intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. The American (of course) President has to call on his childhood best friend, an '80s video game champion, now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Expect Pac-Man running riot like you've never seen before. This film is releasing in 2D, 3D and 3D IMAX, this is the 3D version.
