A small fishing village in Newfoundland is facing economic collapse, their only chance for survival being to secure a petrochemical plant. However that requires a town doctor, and they don't have one. Luckily a big city doctor arrives for a trial residence, and the townsfolk rally together to charm him into staying. As his time in the village winds to a close, the acting mayor has no choice but to pull out all the stops to convince him to stay and thus ensure the town's survival. A remake of a French film.
