Many years ago, a teenage girl got pregnant, and due to social pressures, moved into a convent to give birth out of the public eye. Three years later, the convent sold her son to a family in America, and she agreed to never try to contact the boy. She went on with her life, and got a new family, all the while secretly searching for her son. In later life, she met a journalist who agreed to help her track down her son, unaware that he was also searching for her, with some surprises of his own.
