Based on a famous American novel, and set in a mythic New York City, with a storyline spanning more than a century. After a burglar breaks into what he thinks is an empty building, he finds a young woman there, and they fall in love. She succumbs to TB, but the burglar discovers he has the power of reincarnation, he sets out to use that power to save the woman.
