This historical drama takes place in 1939, when the King and Queen of England arrived in America to beg the Yanks to join them in WW II. The royal couple spent the weekend with their American counterparts, but international diplomacy had to take a back seat to the US President's voracious libido.

This biography/drama is a fictionalised account of the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Hyde Park, the upstate New York residence of the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Two plot strands converge: the forging of ties between the US and England with WW II imminent, and the womanising of Roosevelt as recounted by one of his mistresses.
