Set towards the end of the Anglo-Boer war, this film examines the difficult choice that the Boer farmers faced once the British started implementing their concentration camps for the Boer families. When the Boers decide to make an example of some men, one of them appeals to General De la Rey, who decides to intervene on the night before the execution, resulting in a hectic all-night ride to get the message through.
