Haywire

They gave her no choice.

Haywire
Steven Soderbergh introduces the world's first female Chuck Norris to cinema audiences. She plays a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, she must find the truth in order to stay alive. Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious, dangerous trap. When things go haywire, she realises she'll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.

What the Critics say

Cape Times
Todd McCarthy quote iconBond-style action all the way. Fine use of locations, elegant mobile shooting style and hair-trigger editing.
10
Box Office
Vadim Rizov quote iconStreamlined, beautifully shot and casually thrilling, Haywire's superior action fun should hopefully draw audiences eager for R-rated, no-frills fare.
13
Chicago Sunday Times
Roger Ebert quote iconA film like Haywire has no lasting significance, but it's a pleasure to see an A-list director taking the care to make a first-rate genre thriller.
15
Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconHaywire comes close to achieving Soderbergh's goal of creating ''a Pam Grier movie made by Alfred Hitchcock.''
18
ScreenIt
C. Fuchs quote iconDecent, but not original enough to match Carano's big screen debut and her extra bold version of sugar, spice and all things nice
