A Tale of Acting Up, Acting Out, and Acting Your Age.
Guess I'm not much of an example ...
A young girl with a single, absentee mother attempts to accelerate her transition into adulthood with the help of her best friend, and learns some important lessons about growing up in the process. Her distant mom in the midst of an affair with a married doctor when her handsome co-worker tries to sweep her off her feet. Meanwhile her daughter begins to grasp the concept of the archetypal ''coming of age'' story with the help of a concerned teacher, and decides that it's high time she left adolescence behind. Together with her best friend, she hatches a plan to accelerate her development, even if it means willingly sacrificing some of her own innocence along the way. Little does she realise that growing up isn't just about getting older, but getting wiser as well. The film appears to have had a very limited US theatre run before heading to disk.
