That's My Boy

The story of a child... and his son.

That's My Boy
Adam Sandler's latest had a poor reception from the critics. As a raucous teen comedy, the plotline exists merely to hang outrageous scenes on. While still in his teens, a young man had fathered a son, and raised him as a single parent up until his 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, the son's world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when his dad shows up uninvited. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, the father is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.

110 minutes.
No persons under 16 (Language, Sex, Nudity, Prejudice).

What the Critics say

Cape Times
Justin Lowe quote iconDelivers the outrageous situations, non-top raunchiness and juvenile humour that Sandler fans seek.
5
Box Office
Mark Olsen quote iconAs simple and direct as vanilla ice cream or a can of American beer, the film marks something of a return to form for Adam Sandler, king of dumb fun. Like a sleeping giant, there is always hope the true Sandman may awaken.

ScreenIt
T. Durgin quote iconIf your threshold for smut is high and you stick with this flick, I think it has its rewards. I can't give it a blanket recommend because...well, you just don't want to take a blue light to that blanket and see what's on it after two hours of Sandler smut. But it's a comedy. I laughed. It's a simple as that.

Tomatometer quote iconWhile it does represent a new foray into raunch for the normally PG-13 Sandler, That's My Boy finds him repeating himself to diminishing effect - and dragging Andy Samberg down with him.
