Set during the horrific World War I, a young farm boy gets his first horse, only to have it acquired by the British army for use during the war. We follow the horse's various adventures on the continent, as it passes from owner to owner amidst the terrors of the war, while his owner back in England grows to manhood and joins the army. Fate lends a hand one day in No Man's Land. The film has won numerous awards and was nominated for 6 Oscars.
