Breakaway

This appears to be an Americanised version of Bend it Like Beckham, using young men playing ice hockey instead of girls playing soccer. The storyline revolves around a Sikh who goes against his religion and father to follow his love of the game. He puts together an all-Indian team, and they set about competing against the white teams. In Punjabi and English.
