Originally produced as a mini-series for European television, this edited version follows the remarkable life of one of France's most influential historical leaders. Set in 16th Century France, against the backdrop of religious war, Henry is a Huguenot military leader who has become a hero in Navarre. He was preparing a revolt against the royal family. He was introduced to the Queen, who decided to arrange a marriage between him and her daughter, hoping to end the war in this way. But the wedding only lead to a massacre, and open war erupted with Henry fighting against the throne. In German and French with English subtitles.
