Gattu has watched his father rule a house, a family, a community for the last 25 years. He has silently tolerated the snide remarks and insults passed by a younger generation. He understands the bitterness of his siblings and identifies with their shattered dreams. The neighbourhood boys playing cricket remind him how his own dreams where left unreached in exchange for a job at a corner store.
