This arthouse drame is about a sixteen-year-old Siberian herdsman and the wolf cub he saves in the wild. The boy is the son of the head of a clan of famous reindeer breeders. Each summer the clan herds their only source of wealth, the reindeer, great distances to far off feeding grounds, while protecting them from the wolves. This year the boy has been included as a herdsman in the trek, a move designed to teach him the ins and outs of the business he will one day run. However, when he finds a wolf cub in need of help, his natural instinct to help the animal overrides his sense of duty and loyalty to the herd. Will he be able to keep this relationship a secret from his tribe who will surely see the wolf as an enemy that needs to be destroyed? In French language with English subtitles.
