The story of a woman who loses her family to violence and poverty, but gains her own sense of self worth.

A topical South African drama, set on the Cape Flats. After her son is shot in the neck, leaving him disabled, his mother battles to survive. With no husband and the medical expenses draining what money they had, she resorts to shoplifting to survive. Things start to look up when a young physiotherapist starts working with her son, but then the case finally comes to trial and the situation deteriorates again.
