A young man has never gotten over his brother's suicide years ago. A young woman has never gotten over her mother's murder, also a few years ago. Fate contrives for them to meet with an agenda ... he is supposed to romance and then dump her as a favour to his buddy, who has a score to settle with the girl's cop father. The romancing part works so well that we never get to the dumping part... and then 9/11 arrives.
