Precious
Life is hard. Life is short. Life is painful. Life is rich. Life is....Precious.
This crowd-pleaseing arthouse drama tells the story of an overweight black teen, pregnant for the second time by her father. Although he is mostly absent, he has abused her physically since she was an infant, while her mother abuses her verbally and psychologically. Luckily this time around a kindly teacher and social worker take her under their wings and begin to offer her a different life... an opportunity that she grasps with both hands.
