A bachelor and dedicated traveller is a hatchet man for hire: companies rope him in to fire their people when necessary. However complications arise when his boss hires him a new assistant, who proposes to fire people remotely, thus saving on all the travelling and expense. In order to make this work, she first has to learn how it's done in person, so the two of them go on the road (okay, plane) together. As time goes by, and emotions develop, they are forced to re-examine their lives. The film has won numerous awards already.
