Hollywood intertwines a few formula movies here. On the one hand there's the new kid in school, who has trouble making friends. He gets involved with a ravishing blonde, who turns out to have a hidden agenda involving music, which is his strong point. He helps her set up a band to take on her ex-boyfriend in a typical underdog-sports-story battle of the bands. Meanwhile he finds himself attracted to another girl, and the the blonde helps him court her.
