In the pressure cooker of 1950s apartheid South Africa, two women meet and their worlds are turned upside down. A traditional young Indian mother, hardworking and self-effacing, meets a brash and rebellious young woman, who confounds the Indian community by driving a taxi and setting up a cafe with a local black man.
