After thirty years together as partners, two New York cops are ready to retire. However, they are given one last case: a vigilante is knocking off violent criminals who escape justice on technicalities. Two young cops from another precinct are roped in to help, and it's not long before one of the veterans is the prime suspect... but all is not what it seems.

Fuchs De Niro and Pacino certainly give the film some much needed gravitas, but one can only imagine what they could have done together with a meatier and more novel story rather than this trite genre offering that works too hard, not to mention obviously, at pulling off its twist rather than getting us to care.
