Set in New York, an experienced cop and his rookie assistant begin investigating a series of murders. The victims were all well-known criminal lowlife, and in some ways the killer is doing society a favour. However murder is murder, and the killer needs to be caught. The bodies all bear the strange inscription WΔZ, which is part of a formula from the field of genetics. As the investigation proceeds, it becomes clear that the victims were offered a simple choice: who dies, you or a loved one? Note: not for the squeamish.
