This South African movie takes a look at the effect of gambling. After her son contracts AIDS, a Moslem woman turns to gambling to raise money, in spite of it being forbidden by Islam. Before she knows it, she is addicted, and her life is on a downward spiral, as she struggles to break the spell. At the same time, she is involved in a love triangle with her own married sister, who develops cancer. Based on a true story.
