A man gives a young woman a lift, and is involved in an accident, leaving the girl dead. He goes to tell her mother, who is autistic. She invites him to stay a few days, and they get to know each other, while trying to deal with their own and the other's condition. He is also distracted by a pretty neighbour. More a character study than a story.
